Right now, this website is pretty slow to load the first page, particularly if there are no other visitors to the site at that moment. For example, I timed the initial page load just now, and it took about 25 seconds for the page to appear. I'm on a cable connection, so your mileage may vary.  

You connection (cable, DSL, dial-up, etc) has some impact on initial page load, but most of the delay is required to pre-load stuff on the server before it can send it down the line to you. I will work on optimizing that process to increase performance once the site is a little further along in development.
